This week designer Andrew Buckler personally showed Orange Juice and Biscuits some looks from his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at his Buckler store in Soho. After a long winter you can almost forget how to dress for warmer temperatures so this was the perfect refresher course in warm weather clothes 101.

Buckler’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection was inspired by the German modernists’ school, Bauhaus and the 1924 Olympics. Buckler created a collection which embodied a mix of classic suiting and practical weekend wear designed with the Ivy League urbanite in mind.
Khaki, royal blue, and vibrant crimson chinos are meant to be rolled up at the ankle and paired with traditional tops, like a white button-down with a canvas deconstructable trench. A lightweight chambray suit will surely be a staple for spring as it can be dressed up with classic wingtips or paired with white sneakers for a carefree spring feel.

True to his easy-going aesthetic, Buckler showed neutral-colored cardigans updated with stripes of color, layered beneath blazers and accessorized with skinny knit scarves. The collection struck a perfect balance between modernism and contemporary athleticism which are two concepts by which Buckler was inspired.
Special thanks to Andrew Buckler and his models for taking time out to show and discuss his Spring/Summer collection with OJ&B! I really enjoyed the collection and loved the materials that he used for the garments. You can tell that a person would not hate their lives on a hot day if they wore the blazers and shirts (super important especially in the oven that is NYC)!
Have a good Spring/Summer and I hope to see you soon Mr. Buckler.
