Gold Hunt: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will officially start showing designer’s Fall/Winter 2013 collections today.  For 5 seasons I have been official press at fashion week taking in all of the hottest trends on and off the runway.  Besides shoes, I usually focused on the clothes and not the accessories.  This season that is all going to change as I am going to be on the lookout for what I think will be the hottest trend in accessories for 2013 and 2014: GOLD!

Before I walk into the potential “gold mine” of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week tents, I wanted to take a look at some seriously fierce gold collaborations and moments that have happened in the past.  Take a look at some of my favorite golden moments:





DVF for H.Stern:

I love Diane von Furstenburg and I love H. Stern jewelry!  When the fashion powerhouse collaborated with H.Stern it was as match made in heaven for me.  Who doesn’t love an amazing statement cocktail ring that you can wear with almost anything, like this 18K brushed yellow gold ring, or chic 18K yellow gold earrings that will compliment any evening look and upgrade all of your daywear?

Jason Wu for BRVTVS:

Designer Jason Wu worked with BRVTVS to create gold ear cuffs for his Spring 2013 collection.  This is going to be a huge trend and girls seem to be returning to playing with multiple ear piercings and fun and flirty ways to adorn their ears with opulence.

Ralph Lauren:

Many people know Ralph Lauren as a great American sportswear brand that makes perfect clothes for summering in the Hamptons or the Cape.  They may not realize however that Ralph Lauren also has a gorgeous fine jewelry collection.  With 90’s fashion back in full affect, gold chains are a huge trend.  I am obsessed with this 18K gold chain necklace from Ralph Lauren because it offers a chic way to wear gold chains without looking like MR. T at a cocktail party.  There is no reason to fear bold gold with pieces like this available for the taking!

Dior:

Who does not J’adore Dior (said like Charlize Theron in the fierce Dior fragrance ad)?  I am all about a glam Dior outfit and the same goes for their fine jewelry line.  Again, some people may not know that the design house also makes amazing 18K fine gold jewelry.  When you combine a Dior gold statement cuff with your outfit there is really no way you can go wrong. 

Now that I have refreshed my memory on some of my favorite fashion and gold collabs I am ready to explore the streets and the catwalks of NYC during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week looking for epic gold pieces! Stay tuned for more gold soon!
