A Night To Remember: Speakeasy Moderne

Last month I had the chance to see the show that Broadwayworld.com and Page Six have been raving about, Speakeasy Moderne!  It has made such a splash in NYC that even Sonja Morgan of the Real Housewives of NYC was a guest performer when Speakeasy Moderne did a show in the Hamptons this summer.   The show is perfect if you are looking for something different to experience in NYC and makes for a fun date night. 

Here is what you can look forward to experiencing when you see the show.

Held each month at Stage 72 in NYC, Speakeasy Moderne is hosted by the fabulous friend of OJ&B, "Official Hank" Stampfl.  Hank does an amazing job of blending Jazz Age Manhattan with Vaudevill, cabaret and burlesque with a rotating cast that includes Lynsey Buckelew, Dina Fanai, Kristin Ewing, Shari Katz, Amber Williams, Jackie Washam, Tommy Scrivens and Choreographer Kimberly Schafer.

From a professional hula hooper to amazing pianists and singers, each show brings something a little different to table. On Thursday, July 25 at 9:15pm, Speakeasy Moderne will feature Jazz Mavin Linda Calise, NYC Hottest Queen Dallas Dubois and Diva Lady Amber along with musical numbers like "Willkommen" from Cabaret, "Edge of Glory" (Lady Gaga), "It Don't Mean A Thing" (Duke Ellington) and "Ring Them Bells" (Liza). 

The best thing about this show is how everyone involved truly loves to entertain.  Hank loves interacting with the audience and makes sure that everyone is having a good time.  The singers that he chooses have amazing voices and they take you back to a time that is often forgotten.  Dallas Dubois is an amazing performer and drag queen. She always brings super high energy and lots of laughs.  She is one of my fave Queens in the city!
