Worked Her Dress Or Looked A Mess: The 2015 Golden Globe Awards

My favorite season of the year is definitely awards season!  You get the glitz and the glamour of the red carpet as well as the hot ass messes and OMG moments that we all love to see.  My roommate was shocked and appalled when I informed him that I would need to watch Golden Globes coverage from 4 to 11pm.  All I had to say was "It's award season!"  I have to stay glued to the television for all of my OJ&B guys and gals so we can talk about what truly matters, who WORKED HER DRESS and who LOOKED A MESS!!  Let's take a look at what the stars brought to the table to start the 2015 award season!

Worked Her Dress:

Amy Adams

Amy Adams always brings the glam to the red carpet and the 2015 Golden Globes are no exception. She was super chic in this Versace gown complimented by Tiffany & Co. jewels.  I am excited to see what she brings to the rest of award season.  Remember y'all, this is only the beginning!

Kate Hudson

As soon as Kate Hudson walked up to do her Red Carpet interview with E! I knew that she was waring Versace, Versace Versace! Kate is Hollywood royalty and managed to look regal and sexy all at the same time.  Normally I am not a huge fan of a cut out situation but Kate killed it on the carpet.  SO GOOD! 

Salma Hayek

It is hard to believe that in a few years Salma Hyek will be 50 years old.  She is the epitome of beauty and she look sensational in this gown by Alexander Mcqueen. I love when Latinas have major moments on the red carpet. Work it mija!

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain knows what works for her and this Atelier Vesace gown works like a dream! She paired the dress with Piaget jewels which compliment it perfectly.  I don't think we ever have to worry about this Jessica looking like a Messica anytime soon on the red carpet.

Emily Blunt

I was really surprised to learn that this was a Michael Kors gown but it is and Emily Blunt looks like a red carpet goddess in it.  This dress is perfect for the Globes as it is not as formal of a carpet as the Oscars.  It is a good way to go a wee bit causal with out looking like let's say Lorde who we will talk about later.  Kudos to Emily for looking like perfection.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus 

I was really feeling the white looks on the Globes carpet and Julia Louis-Drefus did it right!  This Narcisco Rodriguez dress is simple yet perfect for the Golden Globes.  Julia learned a long time ago how to be a funny lady who also kills it on the carpet. The hair and make up are on point as well.  Great job team Louis-Drefus!

Taylor Schilling 

I loved the clean lines of this custom Ralph Lauren gown.  Taylor Schilling looks tailored to perfection and I really love the neckline. Glam is the new black Taylor! 

Katie Holmes

I just needed two seconds to talk about that long ass Remy hair pony tail that Katie was rocking.  That's all... We now return you to your regularly scheduled Worked Her Dress or Looked A mess for the 2015 Golden Globes!

Allison Williams

Allison Williams looked super sweet and was giving me a 50's vibe with this Armani Prive gown.  She paired it perfectly with jewelry by Cartier. 

John Legend

As far as the gentlemen go, John Legend looked dapper as usual in a Dolce and Gabbana midnight blue tuxedo and Dolce and Gabbana shirt.  The tux is paired with Ferragamo shoes, a Gucci bow tie and Gentleman- David Thomas X JBH cufflinks.  Shout out to friend of OJ&B, stylist Dave Thomas, for the amazing styling job with John!  

Kevin Heart

I loved Kevin Heart's black tuxedo with white piping.  I have always loved the piping look and it is a great way to stand out from the crowd when you are a guy.  It is chic and attention getting without being gaudy.  Great job Kevin! 

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to a best dressed list and this year she won OJ&B's Best Dressed of the 2015 Golden Globe Awards.  Everything from her hair to her shoes were just right and working in all the best ways for J.Lo.  In the words of the late and great Joan Rivers, "She looked like a movie star."  Jenny from the block SLAYED all of your faves in this Zuhair Murad creation that was half dress and half caftan.  It was everything that needs to be at the Golden Globes and I am not even mad at her that her nipple may or may not have been trying to escape from the block.  Each time J.Lo would pop on my screen I would just gasp and say "OH EM GEE J.LO!"  I just cannot stop looking at that hair that is laid like North West during nap time and that make up is beat to perfection.  Kudos to Jennifer and her entire glam quad for giving everyone life on Globes night! 

Looked A Mess:

Amal Clooney

I did not J'adore this Dior on Amal Clooney.  Maybe I would have liked it if it were accessorized better but these white gloves just do not go with this outfit. This was a big miss for the first red carpet outing that the couple had.  She better step it up next time. Please see Brad and Angie or even the Dewan-Tatums. 

Keira Knightly 

Little Bo Peep better find her sheep and then take her ass home.  What the hell was the team at Chanel thinking with this?! I am really disappointed especially since she said that a team of 30 people hand made it.  Listen, if a team of 30 people hand make something from me from Chanel we are all going to make sure it is SICKENING.  Knightly better tell this look night night! 

Rosamund Pike 

Rosamund... This look needs to be GONE GIRL! I cannot with this Vera Wang Collection dress on her.  It doesn't really fit well in the chest area and it looks a bit incomplete.  This is not flattering on her at all and it does not look like it is something that fits her style (I don't even know about her style that much but it just does not work for her).  I think this is a dress for a woman with a smaller chest.  It looks like she needs more support, from her dress and her styling team.

Lorde

Oh LAWD this is just not a good look for the Golden Globes Lorde.  It looks like she is on her way to a Grammy's luncheon.  It is just too casual for me and I am not feeling it.  This is a cute look for a CD signing at a mall but for a major red carpet that is not music focused she needs to step it up.

Giuliana Rancic

I really do love Giuliana Rancic but she always wears the wrong freaking dress to the Live from the Red Carpet portion on E!  During the pre show she always kills it and then for the part where she interviews the celebs on the carpet she always comes up with some busted gown like the one above.  Dear Giu Giu, for next award show please either get two amazing gowns or wear the not so cute one for the pre show and the amazing one for the red carpet portion.  I am just trying to help you out Boo!

Laura Prepon

I like the cut of this dress for Laura Prepon but I am just not feeling the bottom.  It looks like she was standing on the carpet for way to long and a ton of spiders or bugs started crawling and gathering at the bottom of her dress.  Sorry LP! 

Kate Mara

Kate Mara, what is this tan weight lifting belt that is happening? Honey no!  I need to know who she hired as a stylist that is still telling this poor girl to belt her gowns like that.  The dress is not bad but that belt just looks a bit dated and not 2015.  Kate, email me and let's talk! 

Sienna Miller

Miu Miu should often times be named Ew Ew because WTF is this dress that Sienna Miller is wearing? Something about it does not look finished and that neckline is way too deep.  The print and material washes her out and it just looks a bit cheap. Throw on a oversized Amish looking hat, some boots and a vest of some sort and I bet you could have a fabulous look for Coachella.  It's very that. 

Alan Cumming

I know that Alan Cumming is suppose to be all unique and different but lets do a chic shoe with this look.  I think this would have looked find if he would have paired his Mr. Peanut colored suite with a chic shoe.  I bet Louboutin would have have something fab for this.  This is a prime example of how the wrong shoe can really mess up your entire look fellas.
