Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross announcing the 91st Annual Academy Award Nominees on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater

Hollywood and pop culture fans around the globe are all buzzing about the list of 2019 Oscar Nominations that were announced this morning via actors Kumail Nanjiani and Tracee Ellis Ross.  

The Favourite and Roma both earn bragging rights this year by receiving the most nominations at 10 each including Best Picture. 

The gays are sure to be gagging for Gaga's Oscar nomination for Actress In A Leading Role and Original Song contributing to A Star Is Born's eight nominations which did not include Bradley Cooper for the directing award although he is up for Actor In A Leading Role. Gaga will be up against Glenn Close who received her seventh Academy Award nomination for Actress In A Leading Role in The Wife

Kudos are in order for Spike Lee who earned his first-ever directing nomination for BlacKkKlansman. Lee will be up against Alfonso Cuaron for Roma, Yorgos Lanthimos for The Favourite, Adam McKay for Vice and Pawel Pawlikowski for Cold War.
